Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire….Again, that means I talk about real shit. The feature for this week is on Underground Rap World. Words that have been used to describe Underground Rap World are humble, helpful, and supportive. These are not words normally used when describing Hip Hop, which means the man behind the brand is extraordinary. Justin Larison founded Underground Rap World in 2013 with the slogan, “All Underground All the Time”. Wikipedia describes underground hip hop as hip hop that is characterized by being socially conscious, positive, or anti-commercial lyrics. Anybody whose slogan, “All Hip Hop All the Time” is saying that it is okay to be conscious, bring positivity to the lyrics, tell the truth and talk about how it really is….and the platform is provided through Underground Rap World. This is a classic example of servant leadership.
Justin shared his vision of Underground Rap World at the time of conception. He shared that his vision was to help struggling artist through various forms of promotion. I read some of the reviews and discovered that I was right….someone extraordinary was behind Underground Rap World for people to voice so many positive things.
Underground Rap World Videos gets hundreds of thousands of views. A few of the latest artist promoted on the URW platform are Tone Tana Music, C-Lance, One Mic, Demrick, and Sonny Sale ft. Solid Savage. Thank you for your service Mr. Justin Larison and Underground Rap World. Follow Underground Rap World @UndergroundRapWorld on Facebook. Welcome to this week's Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. After the George Floyd murder, I wrote an article titled, Rope Burns Won't Heal With Your Knee on My Neck: The Uncomfortable Truth (https://www.blonde-intelligence.com/ms-roni/rope-burns-wont-heal-with-your-knee-on-my-neck-the-uncomfortable-truth). In that article I talked about white privilege and gave examples. Examples such as education and benefit of the doubt, but this real life insurrection is the latest, most wide open example of white privilege. The reported experiences from lawmakers during the insurrection is what people of color experience over and over again...in Covid-19 treatment, in court, in police treatment, in life. I remember the Sandy Hook Massacre...the police took the killer and got him a cheeseburger meal because he was considered a young boy at the age of 18,, but Tamir Rice was 12. On my Blonde Intelligence Podcast and Video Show, I did a show on Black People and Their First Encounters and Experiences with the Police. In that show the average age of first encounter with the police was 16, one was told that they were going to kill him if a car had not been in the way for a clear shot...he was 14 at the time. All on the news outlets, internet, and social media people have been voicing the stark contrast of the double standards in how groups of people are being treated compared to how people of color are treated in similar circumstances. In the first Rope Burns Won't Heal Article, I mentioned the movie, "A Time to Kill"....Again, close your eyes, go ahead and close them (metaphorically)...Now imagine....a group of lawmakers in a live session....and all of a sudden you have to get down because you hear glass shattering, wood splintering, a large crowd of angry chanting men and women trying to break in....imagine it....imagine....imagine that this angry group was black.....what would be the difference in the outcome? That is white privilege...

Welcome to the first Blonde Intelligence of the new year with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. (Side note: That is a classy way of saying that I talk about real shit that will help you....ummm hmmm...and a lot of real shit happened in this past year that should have you thinking about how not to get caught with your pants down (figuratively). Let's move on....
Unless you are a nun....everybody wants to climax right...(in life). According to Oxford Languages, climax is the most exciting, intense, and culminating experience, its the feeling of being at the top of the tier. Keep in mind that this highest point can be positive or negative. In order to reach a true climax you have to work on your shadow side. Let's just say that you are an artist, (artists this part means that I am about to say some real shit to you and you are about to experience some Blonde Intelligence exquisite cranial repertoire)....and you want to be a successful artist (provided the talent is there). But your shadow side is that you don't like to listen, you do not like to take directives, you ignore business advice, your attitude is bad, your music is violent, no desire to understand business, shady business practices, unrealistic expectations, inflated ego, etc. What work would this artist need to do on his/her shadow side to reach a positive climax? If the artist does not work on the shadow side what negative climax could you envision? What if the artist's shadow side shows in his/her public persona? In that case no professional will want to work with you and you fucked yourself...that's not a fulfilling climax...If you put the work in then 2021 should see you envisioning yourself to climax, and that's some real shit. This week is the last of the three-part series on the tarot. We have discussed the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana. Our subject today is the tarot spread. Have a slice of warm apple pie… According to Psychiclibrary.com, a tarot card spread is a method by which the tarot card reader lays out the cards physically and interprets its meaning. Remember we went over meanings in parts one and two. There are many spreads but for beginners’ purposes we will only mention the three card and the five card spreads. Here is another slice of warm apple pie… A simple three card spread can answer general questions in many areas of life. A three-card spread can answer present, past, and future; what I think, what I feel, what I do; current circumstances, barriers, and advice, and so many more. So let’s say you want to know what to do about a lover….a three card spread could answer; what they are possibly feeling, what are they thinking, and what action will be taken. The placements of the cards, if they are major or minor arcana, and if they are in the reverse of upright guides the interpretation. More apple pie? ….yes. A five-card spread can give more in depth answers to your questions. Five card spreads can answer questions or provide insight in love, relationships, career, money, and travel. The cards in placements of 1-5 can answer preconceived ideas, present situations, the unexpected, the near future, and the distant future. So, let’s just say in the near future position of a five cared career reading is the Chariot in the upright. What would that mean? What would it mean in the reverse? What if the Ace of Pentacles was in the near future position upright? Here…take another piece of this warm apple pie with you for later. Was the bitten apple better in this warm apple pie? Welcome to this week's Blonde Intelligence with me Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week we will continue with our three-part series on the tarot and focus on the minor arcana. The minor arcana or suit cards represent things or influences that are going on in your life. It's like…you are in your freshman year of college…the friends you make, what you give importance to, and/or you increase your study time all influence what your grade will be at the end of the semester. Whether positive or negative, the influence has an impact on the final outcome. How could Cups, Pentacles, Swords, or Wands influence the outcome? You wonder what are those…they are the minor arcana. The cards are represented by numbers with each having court cards that represent the action or energy of you yourself or the energy surrounding you. The court cards are Pages, Knights, Kings, and Queens…..of course there is always an Ace in each suit.
Cups is a feminine energy with the element water. Cups are emotion, creativity, intuition, and lots of cleansing love. The cups cards are usually Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio energy. Cups energy is heart over head energy. Pentacles is money, finances, career, and possessions. It is a feminine energy represented by the element Earth. The signs of this energy are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. Pentacles have the energy of manifestation. Swords are communication, decision, action, thoughts, words, anger, judgement, verbal/mental abuse, knowledge, and power. The energy is masculine and the element is air. The signs that normally represent this energy in a reading is Aquarius, Libra, and Gemini. Wands are creative and new magical ideas. Wands are energetic, full of willpower, spiritually conscious, warm, and charismatic. Wands have purpose and high motivation to take action. The element is fire and the energy is masculine. The signs that normally represent this energy are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. Keep in mind that we all have all signs in our chart and some signs may be stronger than others. Most people look at their sun sign, but you are your moon sign too. If you don’t know your moon sign you can check out Cafeastrology.com. I hope that I have piqued your curiosity enough for you to find out what each number in the suit represents. Next week will be the last of the series and I will explain a simple spread. In any kind of spread the placement of the major and minor arcana tells the story. When you are able to read the story from the placement then you will have eaten the whole apple. Let’s see who finishes the apple next week. Remember to Like, Share, Comment, Subscribe, or even Disagree with Ms. Roni’s Blonde Intelligence. Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week will be the first of a small three part series on the tarot, starting with the Major Arcana. I know some of you are thinking again….What in the hellllzzznnnniiieee???? But haven’t you already bitten off the apple?
According to Oxford Languages (2020), Arcana refers to secrets or mysteries or to the 22 trump cards. I am only going to do a brief discussion on four of the 22 major arcana cards. I hoped that your curiosity is piqued enough to continue to learn more. The Major Arcana holds significant mysteries to significant events that directly affect your life, whether in the reverse or the upright. The four cards are: The Fool, The Magician, Strength, and the Wheel of Fortune. Of these four cards, three is ruled by planets and one represented by the zodiac. The Fool Card is ruled by the element air and the planet Uranus (I will let you check out Uranus on your own because sometimes he can be a mutha….). The fool in the upright is a good card that represents innocence, believing in self for new beginnings, creativity, and taking a chance on you. In the reverse is a total and reckless idiot. In my interpretation of the Fool card the person looks at ease around uncertainty, almost naive to the dangers around him. The positive part is that the sun is shining on him and the rays are reaching long. The Magician is one that makes shit happen. The card is an air element, ruled by the planet Mercury. They are the ones that finesse and flip shit. They have all the resources and skills to shape the destiny that they want. In my interpretation on the Magician card there are fruit and flowers all around the man/woman, signaling the ability to make magic happen. There is an infinity sign above his head and a large cup that he is commanding with his wands. Meaning that the magician has endless ways of filling that large cup. Next is Strength, which is represented by Leo. The strength card is having courage in discussions, courage to stand up for you, self-assured, honest, loyal, and reliable in actions. On the strength card the lady also has an infinity symbol above her head and appears to be kind, gentle, and strong, being able to tame the lion. There is wisdom there in the upright. The last card for this week is the Wheel of Fortune. We have all seen the game show where people spin the wheel and depending on how hard they spin and where the wheel stops if they win or lose. In life how hard you spend the wheel is your actions…remember that bitch Karma? The Wheel of Fortune is a fire element ruled by Jupiter, which is the planet of luck and expansion. The Wheel of Fortune in the upright is destiny and good luck. My interpretation of the Wheel of Fortune card seems to be all the elements surrounding the wheel while it is turning. Each representation of the elements, all have books open as if they have been taking notes on past actions. Sitting at the top of the wheel is the Egyptian Sphinx, which is the Greek spiritual guardian. The Sphinx represents the higher power that determines if you go bankrupt or gets to buy vowels to help you along. This was just a sip, I hope it was good. I hope you come back next week for part II, the Minor Arcana. Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. For the month of December, I am featuring a three-part series on the tarot. Tarot cards can be used to tell a story, provide clues, or give warnings about situations in your life. The series will provide insight into the major arcana cards, minor arcana cards, and simple spreads. The tarot spread lists are love, career, daily, spiritual, full moon spread, new moon spread, and celestial spreads. Of course, with me the career spread is always my choice. People intertwine horoscopes with tarot, but they are distinctly different. In the cards you can embody any energy. For instance, I am a Leo Sun, Leo Rising, Gemini Moon, and Cancer Venus. Although Earth is not in this part of my chart, if I am in a period where I am working very hard, my energy can embody earth energy (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn). We all have every sign in our chart. A spread can be as little as one card with yes or no questions, three card spreads (past, present, future), Celtic Cross Spread, or more elaborate. It’s not the cards themselves, but their placements that have meaning. Some readers are intuitive and can read without relying solely on the cards. Some that are my favorites are SenStar555, Spiritual Sag, Deborah Clare Clear Channeled Message, and Southern Mystic Tarot. There are major arcana cards and minor arcana cards. Major arcana cards represent life changing events that have long term effects. Whether or not they come in the upright or reverse determine positive or negative events (Karma). The minor arcana cards are more of the influential energy (wands, cups, swords, and pentacles). They are your actions, thoughts, and feelings that will influence the major arcana in your read (Karma). Next week I will explain the 22 major arcana cards and their meanings. The 22 cards that represent elevation or downfall. This should be very interesting. As always Like, Share, Subscribe, and Even Disagree with Ms. Roni’s Blonde Intelligence. I hope everyone that celebrated Thanksgiving had a lovely as could possibly be holiday. This week I want to speak about lying, liars, and manipulation. I recently did an interview with a music industry professional and he spoke of being taken advantage of early in his career. This led me to speak about the signs of manipulation and lying to help someone, including myself, avoid being taken advantage of in this thing that we call business. I want to start by explaining the second part of the title of the blog. I am sure you are wondering what lying, liars, and manipulation has to do with fish and beans…I will explain, just hold on. According to Farr (2020) in Ja'Net DuBois’ composition of “Moving On Up”, the theme song to the Jefferson's, the lyrics “…Fish don’t burn in the kitchen and beans don’t burn on the grill” is a comparison between her old life and her new life. That in her new life she did not have to eat inexpensive foods with not always an alluring aroma AND do all of the cooking as she did in her old life. Lying is a person not telling the truth and a liar is the person that is doing the act of not telling the truth. We all know that…right? Manipulation is an extension of that ballgame. Lying is the primary tool manipulative people use to continue living a hidden life (Brenner, 2016). Brenner also states that the highest priority to the person that is doing the lying is to avoid responsibility. According to Harvard Business Review, IN BUSINESS THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF LIES AND PEOPLE THAT TELL LIES AT ALL LEVELS OF BUSINESS. A person who has power over others often feels more comfortable lying (Rosenthal & Anderson, 2011). There are behavioral signals and signs to manipulative liars. When evaluating a potential liar, three behavioral signals must be considered. Those three signals are discomfort, evasiveness, and manipulation. Consideration has to be given to what is said and how it is said, and understand behavioral clues or entrapment defense (Rosenthal & Anderson, 2011). Discomfort-the person seems uncomfortable about the things that they are talking about and will want to hurry up and cut the conversation. Example, the person that is doing the manipulative lying will always have a meeting or another phone call shortly after a discussion begins, appearing to always be busy. The second of the three behavioral signals are evasiveness-withholding information or provides vague conversation when specifics on information are requested. Manipulation is the third behavioral signal of a liar. Manipulation is the use of suspect data or lies to make promises that cannot be delivered on or keep a person under their control. Manipulative people may provide a façade of being respectable to lure people into entrapment before finally showing their true colors (Brennon, 2016). Brennon (2016) also states that manipulative people can be passive aggressive or vicious and will resort to personal attacks and criticism. According to, Psychology Today, there are nine traits to manipulative people. Manipulative people lack insight and believe that their way of handling things is the only way. Manipulative people do not understand the concept of boundaries, they will feed off of people at the other person’s expense. A manipulator will avoid responsibility for one’s own conduct by blaming others for causing the conduct. A manipulative person will prey on someone they consider weaker, especially conscientious people. They feel that they will have a successful chance of manipulating a kind person or a person that wants to help. They start with praise of that person’s willingness to help, but it slowly slacks off because it's only to get a service. Manipulative people will often talk behind your back the same way they talk to you about others. Manipulative people will intentionally commit to misconstruing information and intentionally having misunderstandings. With a manipulative person you have to watch and observe them closely. Red flags will start to emerge and their true intentions show themselves. A manipulative person puts a gigantic amount of energy into imitating a good person. You have to reexamine, examine, and examine again your beliefs and your belief system because a manipulative person will attempt to manipulate your thinking. Such as using criticism as a way to try to control you or make you work harder for their benefit. Know the signs….don’t let lying, liars, and manipulation make you miss your turn at bat….Why? Because fish don’t fry in the kitchen and beans don’t burn on the grill….Always move forward, never backwards and tricks are for goats. Just cause I am what some choose to envy…I let a lot of people depend on me I never thought they would deceive me…Don’t you know when times got rough, I was standing on my own… What about your friends…will they let you down again (Austin & Lopes, 1992). Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week’s subject is toxic friendships….I sounded like a teacher didn’t I? You are a teacher too. I have always said that you are to teach people how they are to treat you, and that includes friends, family, and lovers. According to Oxford Languages, toxic is very harmful and or unpleasant in a gradual subtle way. Relationship is described as the state of being connected and the regard in which people behave towards each other. So…if a person that you are connected to has unpleasant or harmful intentions towards you in a subtle way…. Toxic friendships drain you instead of elevating you (Lamothe, 2019). According to Lamothe (2019), Some actions that is listed that a toxic friend may do:
According to Raypole (2020) true friends don’t just take, they also offer empathy for your concerns in all circumstances. A toxic friend adds to your stress, they may say and do things to upset you while you are communicating. True friends offer support when it is needed, in toxic relationships that support is never felt. One interesting thing from this particular article was that toxic relationships slowly began to infest and poison other close relationships. Boundaries about unacceptable behavior have to be set in any healthy friendship or know when the friendship has run its course and have to end. You are always the teacher when it comes to how people treat you. What about your friends….will they let you down again? What would you do…if you could get with me and my crew…what would you do if you get caught with your pants down (Arnaude, Brown, Brodus, Caples, & Williams, 1995). This week I would like to speak about music and the second wave of Covid-19. The shutdown because of Covid-19 was sudden and unexpected which caused many industries to readjust, especially the music and television industries.
According to the World Economic Forum (2020) live performance revenue has been the most measurable casualty of the music industry. According to CNN, a model that the White House uses estimates that the growth in COVID-19 cases are so severe that we are headed towards a mandatory shutdown. As of now CNN is reporting that the state of Utah has no ICU beds and the city of Jackson in Mississippi is in the same situation. We have been told over and over that history repeats itself, that time only folds over. So, a second wave of Covid-19 has been predicted to be much worse than the first. What actions as a musician, artist, rapper, and/ or music industry professional do you do….to not get caught with your pants down? The World Economic Forum stated some observational changes within the music industry due to Covid-19. One is the way people consume music, people are using smart TV’s, smart devices, and apps, with an increase in consumption of on demand MUSIC videos. As an artist this will tell you that a video to each song you release now is important to increase and maintain a fanbase during Covid-19. I have interviewed several artists that say their strategy during COVID-19 is to release a single every two to four weeks, which contradicts the data on what they should be doing. Another observation by The World Economic Forum is that advertising is down. There is loss of sponsorship revenue, that some artists are postponing releases because of the inability to tour and promote new albums, and loss of revenue due to cancellations of live events and concerts. The music and film business has adapted through streaming and seems to be fairing out, but the sports and amusement park arena has a bit more of strategy to consider. The music industry has made some adjustments that are beneficial to revenue in the music industry during a possible second shutdown. Some ways are artist donation links….places like Live Nation and Afton Shows offer virtual live performance concerts. Afton Shows are open to all artists who sign up with them. Artists can do their own concerts using the livestream platform on livestream.com. This platform you can go live from all your social media platforms simultaneously and add others to include all of their social media platforms also. Meaning that a promoter could coordinate a concert and still make money. There are video apps where you can create short videos or long videos to keep your audience engaged during the pandemic. Quick is an app that is quick and easy that is high resolution without the extra cost and you can remove the watermark. Just some Blonde Intelligence suggestions… Artists…you have had a trial run with Covid-19. Now, which crew are you with….Artists….what would you do if you get caught with your pants down… Remember to Subscribe, Like, Share, Comment, or Even Disagree with Ms. Roni’s Blonde Intelligence. Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week I have observed and read many comments pertaining to two terms. Those two terms are liberalism and socialism. These terms were thrown around and the way in which they were used confused me…or maybe the people using them were confused... One man stated in a Facebook comment that we must fight off socialism. Why? Socialism means being ruled by the community. Wouldn’t you think that the people who live in their community would be the most qualified people to know what their community needs? Why would you fight off socialism and socialist policies? What is it that he wants? Another comment I read was ….”those damn liberals”. I’m wondering what did the damn liberals do? According to Qxford Language, liberalism is a philosophy that promotes civil rights, civil liberties, democracy, free enterprise, and also the willingness to accept and respect new ideas and opinions different from one’s own…..I know that was a lot. I was asking myself….are these men saying that there is only one way of thinking and only one way of doing things can be right? What are some of these people wanting? Another thing I find puzzling is if a body has a known pattern to fabricate, why would you believe that they would help your people? Timing is fluid, timing is everything, time is an illusion, timing is an art, and time is of the essence. Journalists should be honest and courageous gathering, reporting, and interpreting information…throughout the life of the story (Society of Professional Journalist, 2020).
Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. As you know I observe and watch…on this past week I have watched a series of vloggers and reactions to an interview where mental health was involved. The vlogger interviewed a person that had suffered from several episodes of mental and physical trauma. The vlogger felt that this form and style of questioning was okay in the name of journalism because she has claims of an inappropriate sexual violation as a child. Not the same degrees of trauma, but one trauma in common with the interviewee. Let us begin with going over a few key terms. According to Oxford, a vlogger is a person who posts short videos to a vlog. Oxford also provides a definition for journalist, which is a person who writes for a newspaper, magazine, news website, or prepares news for broadcast. Trauma-a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. Psychiatrist-a medical doctor that specializes in mental health. The National Public Radio: News & Analysis, World, US, Music & Arts: NPR describes the central job of journalism is to establish the facts and share as widely as possible. It is possible to be a journalist without a degree or specialized training, but not a psychiatrist, therapist, counselor, or nurse. So, we know that there is a distinct difference between journalism and mental health. One of the core foundations of Social and Behavioral Science is never practice beyond your scope of expertise. According to Findlaw.com it is illegal to intentionally inflict emotional distress if it meets three criterions. Intentional infliction of emotional distress is an intentional tort based on conduct so awful that it causes the victim extreme emotional trauma. The three elements of Intentional Emotional Infliction of Emotional Distress are (1) Extreme outrageous conduct that exceeds all bounds of decency. (2) The conduct was intentional or reckless and knew it would cause distress. (3) The conduct causes severe emotional distress. Example: victim developed migraines from the infliction of the distress caused intentionally. The caveat was all these things happened, but the reaction from that particular victim did not show stress. The reaction came from all of the other thousands of victims…in the name of journalism? I have observed people running businesses without a legit LLC, EIC or anything….how in the hell?
I have observed some operating as a record labels, but not registered…just paying for more artist slots on the distribution. Some advertising publishing deals but don’t know how to transfer the artist music between distributers. Some artists have a whole slew of YouTube videos with not one registered code anywhere. To make business sense, two or more parties that makes their money through what they do come together and cause or create and ideal, product, event, song, production, etc. to exist thus creating commerce or a beneficial business relationship. It does not make sense if the win is not beneficial to all parties. According to Google, the definition for the word make is to form by putting parts together, combining to cause something to exist. Business-a person’s regular occupation, profession, trade or the practice of making one’s living by engaging in commerce. Now lastly let’s take a look at the definition for sense. According to Google, sense beyond the external stimuli’s is a feeling that something is perceived or detected. All parties have to perceive that combining professions or trade will make money or equivalent. In several interviews I have done with professionals, one common theme is “I can make more money, but can never replace time lost”. Nobody has time to play school or business. Remember tricks are for goats….to make business sense or does it not make business sense…that is the question. I was pondering one day, just thinking about all that has gone on in 2020. So much has gone on that I could not remember how or if the 420 holiday was celebrated this year. So, I had to take a break from the matrix and do some meditating. According to the website, www.numerology-thenumbersandtheirmeanings.blogspot.com, the number four (4) resonates with energies of practicality, dignity, organization, endurance, mastery and building foundations. The number two (2) resonates with the energies of teamwork, relationships, diplomacy….that events in life will require teamwork to reach goals (AffinityNumerology.com). The number zero (0) all that is wide and open, infinite possibilities, all or nothing. During that time and even developing trends with Covid had most of the world essentially shut down for at least the month of April. At that time many people were losing money. So, looking deeper, how was 420 really celebrated this year? According to Astrosofa.com, it was with the moon in Aries. The moon in Aries raises our energy and gives us confidence in our own skills. With the moon in Aries, the mind is quick and sharp, new projects are started with high assertion. This is the best time to tackle difficult things. Couple that with the meanings of each number and the Aries moon should have put you in the High Priestess/High Priest which is using your intuition for guidance with an air of mystery. This means working behind the scenes, just watching and observing. By Lionsgate Portal (8/8/20) the Emperor/Empress should have emerged. The Lionsgate Portal is your straight connection to the spiritual realm to specifically ask for your abundance. The Emperor represents new opportunities, abundance, nurturing, new business, and creativity. I hope the seeds sown on 420 were good seeds because harvest season is coming… Now you know women build tolerance to marijuana faster than a man, she can keep her composure while singing along with Rick James to Mary Jane. But remember the gifts that lead you to create from Mary should be leading you to your harvest. 420 means more than a stoner's holiday if you are awake in the 5D. Happy Belated 420!!! This week I want to speak about hand washing. I used to be a baker and a parent educator and handwashing is a must. So, one thing that I find very offensive is people not washing their hands.
I am sure that every woman has experienced this scenario….I was in the restroom at work. There was also another lady in the restroom. She flushed the toilet and left. She did not wash her hands…. My thoughts were….I wonder if she realized that she just patted her W.A.P., touched the toilet handle, touched the door handle and took all of her germs along the way back to her workspace. Ladies if you are going to the restroom and not washing your hands when you leave….that is filthy. The thing is, I have seen many women commit this act of filth…as if this is sanitary. There was a man that told me that he never washes his hands when he uses the restroom unless he does the other thing…Again….why would he think after touching his wand that it is okay to touch anything else and it wouldn’t be contaminated??? Acts such as taking a leak on the side of the house without washing your hands is also unacceptable, it is filthy. According to the CDC (2020) there are key times when you are likely to spread germs. One likely time to spread germs is before, during, and after meal prep. How many times have you been to a BBQ outside and the person skips some hand washing??? Some people don’t even wash their meat, but moving on. Another key time when a person is likely to spread germs is after using the toilet….we have already discussed this and labeled it as…..FILTHYYYY (In my Men on Film voice, In Living Color). Another time when a person is likely to share germs is after blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing. I had a superintendent in high school that would blow his nose, cough, and clean his face with the same handkerchief and never washed his damn hands. Some people will dig in their nose with their bare fingers and not wash their hands….again in my Men On Film voice…..FILTHYYYY (Hated It!!!). The last for this blog and very important key time when a person is likely to spread germs is after touching animals, their food, or their poop. I have seen several videos that involved animals that were not sanitary. One video had a baby licking on the cat’s tail and ear, the parents filming thought that it was cute. I saw another video where the dog got over into the bathtub with the owner. Another video where the dog licked the owner in the face in the kitchen while cooking. Even the animal eating off the owners eating utensil….no hand washing at all. Wash your hands, according to the CDC, sanitizer does not kill all germs…visibly dirty or greasy hands reduces its effectiveness. Soap and water always work….be sure to use frequently on your hands and other parts of your body to reduce the spread of germs. I have heard many people say that they won’t vote because their vote doesn’t count anyway. So wrong….. Some people are only aware of one way in which your vote counts, but there are two. Of course, at the ballot is one way to vote. Have you ever heard of the electoral college vote? The other way to vote is through completing your census questionnaire, which determines the electoral college. How? When the census questionnaire is completed, it determines the number of representatives in your state for the House of Representatives. Completing the census questionnaire helps funding for unemployment insurance, community block grants, educational programs, public transportation, hospitals, Medicare/Medicaid, SNAP, and more.
You get your chance to help shape the legislature...once every ten years. So, understand that your vote does count. Your census questionnaire is your vote to form the electoral college, House of Representatives, determine the federal budget for your needs. It is your right to vote and it counts more than you know. When you complete your census, your vote counts in everything for the next ten years. If you have not completed your census questionnaire visit www.2020census.gov. Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week I want to dig a little into how Black Men actually treat Black Women. I interviewed several men and women on their definition of what a “good man” is. It seems that men equate being a good man to having assets. Whereas women look at the emotional aspects of the male personality. One man deemed himself as a good man because he had a career, a pension, took care of his children, had a home, and was independent. But that same man has a woman that he talks to out of state, two women on opposite sides of town, and a roommate that he sleeps with sometimes. See, all of the assets that he feels deem him as a good man….but what does his actions say? And he is doing this to Black Women…. According to the Good Man Project (2018) a good man is secure, not arrogant, he treats everyone with respect until given a reason not to, he is loyal and a man of his word. He is a protector and takes responsibilities for his actions. A good man expresses his emotions and doesn’t hold stereotypes. Last week I touched on emotional abuse and provided some red flags to look for, but we need to look at the everyday emotional abuse of Black Women specifically at the hands of Black Men. We always hear Black Men say that a Black Woman is supposed to be his peace, but what peace is being provided to her? According to Bromell (2020) Black Women’s obligation of defending and protecting Black Men is not reciprocated in the same manner. Look how our Black Women are referred to in music. I got a song to review and every other sentence was about what he was going to tell that bitch to do and what this bitch did. I had to tell him…you know that you were submitting to a woman….right? The problem is that he did know that he was submitting to a woman, but the mistreatment of Black Women has become so common that he did not see his faux pas. It seems that respect for Black Women is not given, Black Men will respect a woman because he knows her, but will freely disrespect a Black Woman he doesn’t know. This week I have read so many posts by men on their disagreement in a particular divorce settlement, totally disrespecting a woman that they don’t even know….what the hell? According to www.scholars.org, Black Women are expected to embody strength at all times, even when they are unable to do so. Strength through taking care of the kids, strength through the other woman she found out about, strength through dealing with his low vibrational family members and friends, strength through broken promises, strength through him just up and leaving, strength through him not calling anymore, strength through all the disrespect on so many levels….on top of racism and all other societal pressures. According to www.ReachOut.com, an emotional abuser’s goal is to undermine another person’s feeling of self-worth and independence. Black Men do you think cheating, lying, using money as leverage, ghosting, not taking responsibility for f@ck ups, verbal abuse, and in some cases physical abuse help build a Black Woman self-worth? Would it build yours as a Black Man? How would it make you feel? Just because you have assets does not give you the freedom to disrespect and emotional abuse the very damn place you seek for your peace. Black Men evaluate your treatment of All Black Women because if your actions and/or words undermine her feelings of self-worth in any situation, it is emotional abuse. This week I want to touch on emotional abuse and signs to watch out for when dating. When people think of abuse they commonly think of physical abuse and verbal abuse, but emotional abuse precedes and are a part of both physical and verbal abuse. A perpetrator of emotional abuse can be a parent, spouse, romantic partner, and co-worker/supervisor, or even a child. According to Psychology Today, emotional abuse is gradual and subtle that slowly damages the victim’s confidence and self-esteem in which the recovery period is longer than physical violence. Recently I did a podcast on dating after divorce and one of the points one of the panelists made was, when dating you have to be discerning and look at red flags because the dating scene has changed. Also, you have to be discerning about who you introduce to your children. While reading the article, The Truth About Abusers and What To Do, it says despite the fact the person is expressing love and affection, some red flags of a potential abuser are unwilling to compromise, outburst of anger, rude, critical of you and or family (including children), jealous, possessive, paranoid, and threats. The article also stated that physical violence often does not begin until after marriage or childbirth when its harder to leave. In the article 10 Relationship Red Flags (2014) a partner that doesn’t communicate, immature, can’t be trusted, unliked by friends and family, controlling, secretive, or abusive (emotional, psychological, physical) are indicators that some questions and answers need to critically evaluated. Yet we see a woman or a man get dogged out and never leave. Some will let their own children get abused. Grownups teasing a child until they are crying is abuse. An adult hitting a small child hard as they can is abuse. Telling little boys that they are not supposed to cry is suppressing their feelings is abuse. Recently there was a video on Facebook where a father abused his daughter while his wife recorded it. The wife was talking shit in the background giving instructions on how to abuse his own daughter. Were there not any red flags. If a man or woman hits you or talk to you any kind of way…..how do you think he or she will treat your children when you are not around? As Sommore said, you have to find out if a ni@@a has a tendency to beat some ass. If you know a person has issues…look at the red flags. Remember emotional abuse precedes other abuse….watch out for the red flags. Remember to Like, Share, Comment, and even Disagree with Ms. Roni’s Blonde Intelligence. Hello Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week I want to talk about collaborations. In my observance, I have seen independent artists drop a whole album without any collaborations. I have seen artists collaborate with the same artists project after project. If the people that you hang with are all the features that you have, then you are not growing your fanbase or the money. In any kind of business, smart collaborations are essential for success. According to openmicuk.co.uk, music collaboration between artists are best when they are a complementary team working towards the same agreed upon goal and at the same time, increase your exposure. Question: If you are an artist and let’s say your fanbase is decent in one geographical area of your region, but are lacking in other regions, where would you seek collabs? Any artist that wants to grow their fanbase will seek out opportunities to find beneficial collabs. Beneficial does not always mean who is big time. I had an artist manager submit his artist work to me. He had an album full of legendary heavy hitters on each track. So I asked how much was paid for these features and he said $20,000. I asked why? He said because the artist wanted to prove that he could hang. My head started hurting….I was thinking, this manager thought it was a good idea for his new independent artist to spend $20,000 on collabs for his first album…no former ep, mixtape, single or anything. I asked him…don’t you think he probably should have released an ep with two hitters and a couple of up and rising artists in different areas….and put his money into promotion and videos. I guess he didn’t like my thoughts, although he asked. Another artist had previously released six full albums and every feature was the same group of artists on each album. And if you checked the artist featured projects, it was the same scenario. I see re-emerging independent artists release an album without any features, new artists without features. Collabs without split sheets….ummm split sheets are a part of those agreed upon goals. I had an artist tell me that he needed some music registered, so I asked for a copy of the split sheet and was told that they told him that he could have all the rights….I will say a collab already gone so wrong. Collabs promote team building. It shows that you as an artist are able to successfully work with other professionals in the industry. Collaborations increase your exposure when both parties put in the same work to promote the project. Successful collaborations pave the way for more collaboration and not always in the form of working with other artists. Collabs should extend business contacts between parties as well as monetary gains. In any kind of business, smart collaborations are essential for success. You are collaborating right….is it the right kind??? This past week I viewed a clip of a scene from a new television show. In the clip it shows a black woman screaming and throwing a shoe at what appeared to be a sitting pregnant woman. That type of disrespect really disturbed me. This leads me to this week’s question: How do black women really treat other black women? There is always talk about women empowerment, black girls rock, sisterhood, etc…but are we really modeling a positive behavior towards our own sisters, especially in the media?
Brooklynn K, Hitchens wrote an interesting article in 2017, Girl Fights and the Online Media Construction of Black Female Violence and Sexuality. For this article, women who fought on WorldStarHipHop.com were studied and the findings suggested that there is an over-representation of depictions of Black women as perpetrators and the amount of physical violence shown. This means that most of the time when Black women are shown in the media, they are predominantly fighting. We see plenty of media content with mainly fights and of those fights it's mainly Black women fighting. We see some footage of small events of women empowerment. I am a strong believer in you teach people how to treat you as a Black woman. As a Black woman I sit on my throne in High Priestess mode. This means no shoes thrown, no drinks thrown, no wigs being pulled off, no public fights, no asking no damn questions, the STRENGTH to agree to disagree and walk away amicably. Now in the situation mentioned above….I would not give a half a f@*k about why a person keeps my name in their mouth, never remove yourself from your throne. Once one breaks the “Girl Code”, they never get the gift of your presence ever again. I have observed, when speaking with many independent artists and even some that are signed to labels, phrases that totally eliminate the business side of their craft. Phrases such as: “I’m just an artist, I just do music, I just show up, Ion worry bout none of that”….. This week I wanted to do a little musing about at least learning a tanch about the industry as an artist. “Tanch” is Southern for a lil bit, a smidgen. You know like from the Players Club (1998)…”Did you at least pinch the bitch”….. One thing that I learned from listening to interviews with professional artists is mainly two common themes. One is “I didn’t learn the business”, the other, “I had to learn the business”.
I have always studied for projects and if I can do the task myself, I will and If I can’t I will pay someone else to do it. But you better believe that I will know if you’re using the wrong kind of screws in my shower pan. As an artist, things like types of royalties, master recordings, publishing, copyright, distribution, transferring distribution, etc. should be of working knowledge. Having this working knowledge will protect you against being taken advantage of. I remember I had contacted a promoter and before I could even say anything beyond hello, he hit me with my partner and I would need to be flown out to meet with the artist, hotel…etc. with services and I had not said but one word. If you don’t learn, some of these “professionals” will have you paying the cable bill while your lights are off. As one producer said in one of my recent interviews….” notice I said music….business…..music business”. Being A musical artist is a business and tricks are for goats. I just do music…..ummm…no. Hi, Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week I want to touch on the value of publicity. Recently I spoke with magazine owner and he made a statement that I found interesting. He said it is amazing how some of these artists portray like they have all this money, but won’t do what it takes for publicity. I laughed because he is right. Artist will pay to put a project together, but think it’s so good that no work goes into making some noise about their personality as an artist. Sometimes it’s not the project itself, it’s how interesting, funny, crazy, mean, or asinine the actual artist is. The music business is so saturated with music that your public personality should create publicity. If you could hear me, I would be making the Scooby Doo sound…..eeerrrahhh… According to www.study.com, publicity is often misconstrued with two other forms of mass communication: advertising and marketing. Publicity provides news or information in the media to create a perception. According to www.balancesmb.com, publicity is the process of creating public awareness of what you do, what you got to sell, or anything about your brand through media coverage and other forms of communication. Publicity is in your bio, active posting on social media, articles wrote about you, interviews that you do, or anything released to media outlets about you. This is what creates interest in you as a person that leads to interest in your craft. One artist that does a great job at publicity is Plies. From the publicity he provides through his posts, Instagram lives, and music videos he has created a persona that he would fun to hang out with. This leads to wanting to hear more music, see more videos, and see what he does next. Artists…yes publicity is essential. Only Jesus Can Turn Water To Wine, We Use Grapes….
Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni, where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week I want to touch on creating a budget when starting a music project. A realistic budget when working in music is essential and some independents are missing the mark in this area. Everyone does not get a record label advance. Having a small budget does not mean you can’t yield success; it means you have to exert more sweat equity into your project. So, in essence you are either going to save towards your budget or put the equity in yourself towards a successful project. Let’s start out with the definition of a budget. A budget consists of allowance or specific amount of money to be applied to set operational costs. According to the Music Biz Academy (http://www.musicbizacademy.com/knab/articles/artistincome.htm), artist expenses to include in your budget are recording fees, graphic designing fees, marketing, publicity, promo, equipment costs, songwriter and registration fees, business team costs, taxes, merchandising, and so on. Weibe (https://www.musicindustryhowto.com/budget-next-music-project/#Work_Backwards_From_Your_End_Goal_To_Determine_The_Amount_Of_Money_You_Need_For_Your_Album_Or_Project) suggests that because tracks have to be mixed and mastered, and money has to be left over to properly market the release, working backwards can help you determine how much money you will need. Note he said to properly market the release. Not drop it on YouTube and call it a release, cause that is not a release…..moving on. So, if you are in the music business and don’t have a large budget some of the things you can do to put sweat equity and reduce costs are record in a smaller, but quality more budget friendly studio. I have had artist to send me music they recorded in the living room. He said because he stays away from the hater….uhh huhh…moving on. Using apps to design your album cover may be more budget friendly if you cannot hire a graphic designer. Of course, you get what you pay for and if you don’t know how to remove the watermark then pay their fee. Another budget friendly option is to use a service for marketing and publicity. Some services to ease social media marketing are as low as $15 per month. Facebook and Instagram ads allow you to set your own budget and share on both platforms under one budget. If you do not register your music, it essentially does not count. If you do not have it in the budget, create your own accounts to register your music. For merchandising you may have to start out small, there is nothing wrong with hand made to start with if it is quality. The bottom line is the music industry is a business and exchange of money is involved, even with sweat equity. Remember only Jesus can turn water to wine, because we use grapes…. Recently I had an interview with a producer and he said something that I found quite interesting. He said that he would rather work with a less talented artist with a positive attitude than a great artist with a negative attitude, nobody wants to work with a stank attitude. My thought was….I wonder do artists realize that, because I too share the producers sentiments. I wrote a blog, Are You Shittin Me or Kiddin Me: The Role of An Artist Manager. In that blog, I referenced another article about red flags to watch out for. (Thanks for the great feedback on the Cali.fm Cali’s Best Radio Station Platform…you rock!!!!). Check that blog out. I bet you are wondering about that new shit on top of old shit…lol…that’s something my mom used to say about bad attitudes….and bad breath….lol. Moving on…
Attitude (Oxford Languages, 2020) a settled way of thinking or feeling, typically reflected in a person's behavior. In the music industry your attitude as an artist is going to determine your path. We all have free will, meaning that the choice is always yours in your career. In psychology there are three categories of attitude which are cognitive, behavioral, and emotional. Within those three categories are four types of attitudes, positive, negative, neutral, and sikken attitudes (Yashavi, 2019). The producer said a less talented artist with a positive attitude…right? What are traits of people with positive attitudes? According to Sasson, 2020, people with positive attitudes would not be stuck in a negative attitude of fear, lack of self-esteem, passivity, will not let failure or obstacles stand in their way, and will always try to find ways to overcome them. People with a positive attitude, view life and challenging situations with confidence and are sure they can deal with them. A person with a positive attitude does not dwell on the problems and difficulties of the past, they learn from past mistakes and move on. People with positive attitudes are easier to get along with (Sasson, 2020). I remember an executive saying that talent is only 10% of the music business. And if professionals would rather work with a less talented artist with a positive attitude than a great artist with a negative attitude…remember attitude…..and that Spotify had two billion new artists to enter their platform in 2014 alone….hmmm. Women Can Be Mr. HitDatHoe Too...7/30/2020 Welcome to this week’s Blonde Intelligence with me, Ms. Roni where I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. This week’s subject is domestic disputes turned domestic violence. Not to be confused with domestic abuse because there is a difference. I will clarify. Over the past several days I have had discussions with women on their personal experiences with domestic disputes and disturbances. Some of the experiences, I shall say aye yai yai…. First, just what is a domestic dispute? A domestic dispute is disagreement between a spouse, significant other or family member that escalates to the point of police intervention. Now if the domestic dispute turns physical then it is classified as domestic violence. The official definition of domestic violence is a pattern of behaviors used by one partner to maintain power and control over the other partner in an intimate relationship (Hotline, 2020). The subject is strictly isolated episodes not patterns of abuse to be absolutely clear. The point of the matter is, should the police be called and is it domestic violence? Because women can be MrHitDatHoe too. First Woman’s Experience Lady One allowed her brother to move into her apartment with her. The first two months he did not have an income, but kept company every day. She spoke with him about his company and eating her food. She shared that in the third month that he came in and threw some money at her and said there’s your money. She picked the money up and slapped him in the face with it. She had to Buster Douglass him. She shared that if his friends had not been there to intervene, he probably would have beat her ass. I asked what were her intentions when she slapped him in the face with the money? Did she consider it domestic violence? Do you? The Second Woman’s Experience Lady Two had found out that her boyfriend had been cheating on her. She shared that one day she went to ask him the question at the park where he was playing basketball. She asked him, was he cheating on her with a specific woman in question….. Dude fell out on the ground crying in front of everybody saying that he would never cheat on her. He went on to say he didn't know why anyone would lie on him like that and that she could go ask the woman. Lady Two went to ask the woman and her answer was, yes…. Long story short, later that night she caught them again. As he began to talk he began the lying….her hand laid one down….on his face. I asked her why did she do that….her answer was, I just wanted him to stop lying. Should the police have been called? Again, do you consider this domestic violence? The Third Woman’s Experience Lady Three shared an experience of when she was married to an alcoholic. The man had too many drinks and came home drunk. He came and got into bed and after a few minutes she felt something warm. This ninja was urinating in the bed. She pushed him telling him to get up. He was so drunk that he laid naked on the floor and urinated again. The woman got up, got his belt and whooped his ass. Had he called the police when he sobered up would she have been charged? Would you consider this domestic violence? What do you think about these ladies’ experiences?
